Smook
Thru A Shevvield Chimla
T'STOOAKER
Published in 1906 this little book is a collection of poetry describing
the life one would have experienced in Sheffield during the late 19th
Century. A few of these poems are written in the dialect of the day
which may be of interest to the Family Historian. The
poems range from titles such as "When Father comes home" to "The Ambulance
Van" and "The File Cutters Lament" to " Robert Drabble". The latter
was an heroic pit sinker at Rotherham Main Colliery. Because the cost of burning this to CD would make the
cost a little too high in my opinion I will only be offering this as a
file attachment to email. I will however place onto CD for those who
wish it this way but please contact me for the increased costs.
