Research Services

Are you struggling to get to a County Records Office to confirm a fact? 

Do you need a complete generation finding?

We offer a full research service in the following areas :-  South, East and West Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire.  Whilst some researchers will only carry out large assignments, we at Acorn Genealogy will carry out any work from a simple lookup to as many generations as you require.

We also have the ability to search all the English Census from 1841 to 1901.

Costs for research vary and we would ask you to contact us by with your requirements.

Census searches are at a fixed price payable upon successful completion.  No success no fee.  The cost of this service is £1.00 and payable when the work is complete.  A scan of the original page will then be emailed, or if you would prefer placed on a page within this site for you to view for a given period. 

The fee for this search is for one household only.

We also offer a will transcription service.  At present we cannot transcribe Latin wills.  The cost for this service starts at £5 for the first page with each additional page or part thereof being a further £1.  Multiple wills offered for transcription at the same time will afford a reduction.  Payment for this and the research option will be only sought after completion of the assignment.
