Olde liverpoole and its Charter C R Hand
Published circa 1907. This book is a delightful history of Liverpool. As the introduction states "My desire in preparing the following pages has been to simply gather together a few facts in a small compass, which maybe useful and interesting to Liverpool people especially, and to give some idea of the old buildings that have been swept away;........" Packed full of drawings of these old buildings, advertisements of business trading at the time of publication and text describing some of the buildings and the streets. Also a list of the Aldermen, councillors and Mayor for 1906 - 07 are given. Whilst this is an history I believe that it is also of use by the family historian who may wish to know more about the city that their forbears lived, worked and died in. Scanned at 300dpi and converted to PDF which allows for the pages to be magnified without loss of quality. Some of the pages do not appear straight which is indicative of the book itself.
